Jose Mourinho cleared by FA.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will face no action after the Football Association cleared him of making discriminatory comments towards then club doctor Eva Carneiro.
The pair had a fiery confrontation on the touchline towards the end of the Blues' opening game of the season against Swansea, with Mourinho afterwards criticising Carneiro for going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard. Carneiro has since parted company with the club.
There had been suggestions Mourinho had used abusive language towards Carneiro but the FA, after analysing audio footage of the incident, announced it 'is satisfied that the words used do not constitute discriminatory language under FA Rules'.
The FA said in a statement: "Following information brought to the attention of the FA regarding Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and alleged discriminatory comments made in the Premier League fixture between Swansea and Chelsea on 8 August, The FA has now concluded an investigation into the matter.
"The matter was brought to the attention of the FA on 8 September and led to the appointment of an independent academic expert in Portuguese linguistics to analyse the footage of the incident which included the audio recording.
"After receiving the report from the expert, the FA is satisfied that the words used do not constitute discriminatory language under FA Rules. Furthermore, both the words used, as translated and analysed by the independent expert, and the video evidence, do not support the conclusion that the words were directed at any person in particular. Consequently, on the evidence available to it, the FA will take no further action in relation to this matter."

Jack Warner handed life ban.

Disgraced former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner has been banned for life from any kind of football-related activity.
The former CONCACAF president has been punished for misconduct, following an investigation into the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Warner has been embroiled in a series of scandals and is currently fighting extradition to the USA on charges of racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering.
He left FIFA in 2011 after being implicated in an earlier bribery scandal, although he has denied wrongdoing and FIFA said at the time that the "presumption of innocence is maintained".
But on Tuesday, he was banned "from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at national and international level for life"  by the adjudicatory chamber of FIFA's Ethics Committee, chaired by Hans-Joachim Eckert.

Alexis Sanchez becomes the first man to net hat-tricks in the Premier League, Serie A and La Liga.

Alexis Sanchez returned to form for Arsenal on Saturday with a hat-trick against Leicester, which propelled his side to an entertaining 5-2 victory in the Premier League.
But the Chile international's treble also completed a remarkable personal feat, as he became the first man to score a three goals in a game in Serie A, La Liga and the top flight in England.
Sanchez's first hat-trick came in Italy, when he was playing for Udinese, in February 2011.
He netted three times in the first half of his side's encounter against Palermo as they thrashed the Sicilian team 7-0. Mainly thanks to Sanchez, they were leading 4-0 at the break.
His scintillating form in Italy caught the eye of Barcelona, who swooped to sign him five months later for £23million.
His treble on Spanish shores came in January 2014, his final season at the Nou Camp, as he led his side to a 4-0 victory against Elche.
He has had a slow start to his second season in England, perhaps a little jaded after leading Chile to Copa America victory in the summer, but returned to form at the King Power stadium on Saturday.
His treble guided Arsenal to a hard fought victory against Leicester, who were beaten in the league for the first time this season.

A wincing Messi asked to be substituted in the eighth minute after hurting his left knee during Barcelona's Spanish league match against Las Palmas on Saturday.
The Argentinian international went down after colliding with Las Palmas defender Pedro Bigas in the third minute.
Following medical attention, the Barcelona star went back on, but two minutes later asked to be replaced.
Messi was taken to the nearby Clínica Cruz Blanca hospital, where tests confirmed he had torn the collateral ligament in his left knee.
Barcelona's key man was later videoed limping out of hospital and back into a car.

2022 World Cup to run from November 21 to December 18.

The world governing body's executive committee revealed the 2022 dates for the 28-day tournament on Friday, six months after picking the Sunday December 18 date - Qatar's national holiday - for the final.
In March, FIFA finally decided to switch the 2022 tournament from June-July to avoid Qatar's summer heat.
A 28-day World Cup is four fewer than usual and is designed to cause less disruption to clubs and leagues which must shut down for several weeks in mid-season.

Five of the best forLewandowski.

Robert Lewandowski blew Wolfsburg away with an incredible FIVE goals in nine minutes after coming off the bench when his Bayern Munich team were 1-0 down.
The Bundesliga champions, who entered the match against last season's second-placed team carrying a 100 per cent record, were disappointing as they fell behind to a goal from Daniel Caligiuri in the first half - prompting coach Pep Guardiola to make a pair of changes during the interval.
The Bayern coach replaced midfielder Thiago Alcantara with the Poland international in search of more potency from his side but could not have foreseen what would happen next.
The 27-year-old needed only six minutes to draw Bayern level after reacting to a loose ball from former team-mate Dante to slot home - before firing his team into the lead with a drilled shot from outside the area only a minute later.
Lewandowski completed his hat-trick in just four minutes - the fastest ever scored in Bundesliga history - although he needed three attempts having been denied by the post and then a save from Wolfsburg keeper Diego Benalgio before finding the net.
Two minutes after his hat-trick, Lewandowski netted his fourth by meeting a cross from new signing Douglas Costa with a clinical finish before following that with a superb overhead bicycle kick from the edge of the area to leave Guardiola with a stunned smile on his face.

Liverpool make contact with Carlo Ancelotti.

Brendan Rodgers is fighting to save his Liverpool job after owners FSG sounded out Carlo Ancelotti about replacing him as manager.
Ancelotti, who won the European Cup with AC Milan and Real Madrid, has been approached to take over from Rodgers after Liverpool’s poor start to the season.
It is understood Rodgers retains the support of some decision makers at Liverpool, but his job is now hanging by a thread after Ancelotti was contacted about his position.
Rodgers has made a poor start to the season and their latest result - a 1-1 draw with Norwich - has put the Liverpool manager under even greater scrutiny.
The 3-0 Anfield defeat by West Ham, along with the loss at Manchester Uinted, have convinced FSG to consider alternatives.

Arsene Wenger to divorce wife Annie.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has separated from his wife, according to The Sun.
The newspaper claims that Wenger and partner Annie had a 'separation of bodies' judgment issued by a judge in Paris, meaning that they are free to see other people.
Wenger is still expected to support Annie financially, The Sun reported.
A source told the newspaper: 'They have divided up their assets and agreed a financial package to separate.
'They have not been happy for a while, and they decided this was the best course of action to take.'
The pair had been in a long-term relationship and married each other in 2010. They also have an 18-year-old daughter.
A few weeks before the wedding it was reported that Wenger had become close to French rapper Sonia Tatar, then 39.
It is not clear whether the couple are still living together in London at their mansion close to Arsenal's training ground. They were last pictured together at an IWC watch event in January 2014 in Germany.

FA charge Diego Costa and Gabriel.

Diego Costa is facing a three-match ban for grappling with Laurent Koscielny during Chelsea's win over Arsenal on Saturday.
The striker appeared to claw at the Frenchman's face as they battled for the ball at Stamford Bridge.
The incident went unpunished but the Football Association have now charged the Spain international retrospectively with violent conduct.
FA chiefs studied controversial referee Mike Dean's match report on the incident towards the end of the first half at Stamford Bridge before unanimously deciding to punish the Chelsea forward.
Costa was booked, but it was not been made clear whether it was for the incident with Koscielny or his exchange with Gabriel that led to the Arsenal defender's red card.
The Brazilian was followed down the runnel by midfield team-mate Santi Cazorla in the second half as he was given his marching orders following two yellow cards.
Gabriel has been charged with improper conduct for his behaviour following his dismissal, whilst team-mate Cazorla has been warned for his behaviour following his sending off. Both clubs have been charged with failing to control their players
Costa has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond while Gabriel and both clubs have until the same time on Thursday.

Diego Costa's awaiting FA decision on monday.

Diego Costa will discover on Monday whether the FA will take retrospective action for his part in the incident that led to Gabriel’s dismissal.
FA chiefs are studying controversial referee Mike Dean’s match report on the incident towards the end of the first half at Stamford Bridge before deciding whether to punish the Chelsea forward.
Costa was booked, but it has not been made clear whether it was for the incident with Laurent Koscielny or his exchange with Gabriel that led to the Arsenal defender’s red card.
If Dean missed him clawing at Koscielny’s cheek or swinging his arm into his face, he could yet face a three match ban for the incident.
