Chelsea return to the training pitch for first pre-season session in Montreal.

Premier League champions Chelsea returned to the training pitch to begin preparations for their title defence next season.

Jose Mourinho and his squad are in Montreal, Canada ahead of a pre-season tour south of the border in the USA, where they will play three matches against various top-level opposition. They face New York Red Bulls next Thursday, before matches against two champions of their countries in Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

All of Chelsea's big guns were present, as Diego Costa, John Terry, Cesc Fabregas and Thibaut Courtois among others began to sharpen their game ahead of next week's opening pre-season match.
