Aston Villa sack Tim Sherwood.

Aston Villa have sacked manager Tim Sherwood along with his coaching team of Mark Robson and Ray Wilkins.

The three were summoned by Chief Executive Tom Fox to the club's Bodymoor Heath training ground this morning to be told they were being relieved of their duties.

Fox and Villa owner Randy Lerner decided to act after Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Swansea which left the Midlands club stranded in the relegation zone after six defeats in a row. 

Former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes heads the list of potential replacements as Villa seek a man to rescue them after taking just four points from the first 10 games.
