Chelsea have completed the signing of Marco Amelia on a free transfer, as cover for injured first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The 33-year-old was a free agent after leaving Serie B side Perugia in the summer and has been training with the Premier League champions.
Chelsea announced the news on the club's website, confirming the former AC Milan goalkeeper will wear the No 32 shirt and is available for selection when Aston Villa visit Stamford Bridge on October 17.
