Branislav Ivanovic will NOT face FA action.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has escaped punishment from the Football Association following his heated bust-up with Everton’s James McCarthy on Wednesday.
Ivanovic appeared to aim a headbutt at McCarthy and then there were suggestions he tried to bite him in the 86th minute melee during the late 1-0 win for Jose Mourinho’s side.
However both clubs have been charged by the FA for the incident for failing to control their players, as the squads clashed late on at Stamford Bridge.
In a statement on their website the FA said: ‘Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic will not face any further action in relation to an incident involving Everton’s James McCarthy in the 86th minute.
‘In Premier League matches, if an incident has not been seen by the match officials, a three-man panel of former elite referees will be asked by The FA to review it and advise what, if any, action they believe the match referee should have taken had it been witnessed at the time.
‘For an FA charge to follow, all three panel members must agree it is a sending-off offence.
'In this instance, the panel did not believe the conduct was worthy of a dismissal.'

However both Mourinho’s side and Everton have failed to escape punishment from the FA:
‘Both Chelsea and Everton have been charged by The FA for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour,’ continued the FA statement.
‘It follows an incident in the 86th minute of Wednesday night’s game at Stamford Bridge.
‘Both clubs have until 6pm on 17 February 2015 to respond to the charge.’
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refused to discuss the issue after the match but is sure to be relieved the FA will not take any action against his player, who could have missed the Capital One Cup final against Tottenham on March 1 had a ban been imposed.
