Crystal Palace Become First Team To Lose Opening Four Top-Flight Games Without Scoring

Crystal Palace remain goalless and pointless and have made an unwelcome piece of history following their 1-0 defeat at Burnley on Sunday, which left manager Frank de Boer clinging to his job following a nightmare start at Selhurst Park.
Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game after just three minutes, as he capitalised on an error by Lee Chung-yong to sweep his side into a lead they never relinquished.
The loss puts yet more pressure on De Boer, who has lost all four of his Premier League matches without his side finding the net, with only brief respite coming from the 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over a very young Ipswich Town side.
Palace are the only side to have failed to score and lost all four of their opening league games in the Premier League era and are indeed the first side to do so in the top flight since 1924/25.
Preston were the team to do so on that occasion.
