Manchester United launch new adidas kit for 2015-2016 season.

Jose Mourinho confirms Diego Costa and Gary Cahill are fit to play Arsenal.

Chelsea duo Diego Costa and Gary Cahill are both fit to face Arsenal in the Community Shield on Sunday.
Costa (hamstring) and Cahill (nose) were both doubts for the Wembley curtain-raiser but Mourinho has confirmed the pair are available.
Spain striker Costa limped off in Wednesday's friendly against Barcelona in Washington while Cahill took a blow to the face late on in the game to spark concerns over his availability at Wembley.
But Mourinho confirmed he had a fully fit squad available when he spoke in his pre-match press conference at Cobham on Friday.
'All good,' Mourinho said. 'There are no concerns, no protections (for Costa). We have three top strikers. I'm not worried. No problem.'
The Portuguese coach comes head-to-head with familiar foe Arsene Wenger at Wembley and despite the fixture's official billing as a friendly, Mourinho says he wants to win.

Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla signs new Arsenal deal.

Theo Walcott has signed a new four-year contract at Arsenal which places him among the club’s top earners.
The England forward’s new deal sees him earn in the region of £140,000-a-week alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Walcott, who is Arsenal's longest serving player, suffered an injury-ravaged campaign last season but has been on form this summer, netting the winner against Wolfsburg in last weekend’s Emirates Cup.
The 26-year-old tweeted a picture of himself in an Arsenal shirt inside the Emirates Stadium with the caption: 'This is my home! Happy to have signed a new four-year-deal. Ready for the season ahead. Thank you to Arsenal and Key Sports Management.'

Cesc Fabregas insists the love he has for Arsenal will never go.

Cesc Fabregas says that he still retains his love for Arsenal despite the fact many fans booed and abused him on his return to The Emirates last season.
The Chelsea midfielder prepares to take on his former team in the Community Shield on Sunday and has divided fans of his old club - he was booed on his return but received warm applause from many when he was substituted.
And Fabregas claims his affection for Arsenal will not be affected whatever reception he receives from his former fans.
Whatever it is, it is,' said Fabregas. 'The love I have for that club will never change whatever happens and what is the most important is what I have with me from my time there.
'The rest doesn’t matter, I have great memories, love and respect for the club. You will never hear anything bad from me about them.'

Jose Mourinho hits back at Rafa Benitez's wife.

Jose Mourinho has hit back at Rafa Benitez’s wife, Montse, after she said that her husband was always clearing up Mourinho’s messes at clubs.
The Chelsea manager dismissed the accusation by making a jibe about Benitez’s weight and claiming that the current Real Madrid manager had ruined the best team in Europe when he took over from Mourinho at Inter Milan.
Mourinho said: ‘The lady is a bit confused, with all respect. I'm not laughing, because her husband went to Chelsea to replace Roberto Di Matteo and he went to Real Madrid and replaced Carlo Ancelotti.
‘The only club where her husband replaces me was at Inter Milan, where in six months he destroyed the best team in Europe at the time. And for her also to think about me and to speak about me, I think the lady needs to occupy her time and if she takes care of her husband's diet she will have less time to speak about me.’

Is Benzema on his way to Arsenal?

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is travelling somewhere. The Frenchman posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account as the rest of his teammates flew out to China.
Instead of going with them, the 27-year-old was flying solo on a private plane and wrote: "Let the past remain the past," with a hashtag roughly translated as #lookingtothefuture. Is he flying to London? And is Arsenal that future?

Sanchez trying to stay fit.

Having won the Copa America with host country Chile, Alexis Sanchez has yet to return to club side Arsenal, having been given an extended summer break by Arsene Wenger.
But that has not prevented the man who won the FA Cup in his first campaign with the Gunners from showing his social media following that he is determined to be fighting fit by the time he rejoins his team-mates, by posting two videos as he trained on the beach.
The forward is going to miss the Gunners' FA Community Shield clash with Chelsea on August 2 and their Premier League opener at home to London rivals West Ham on August 9.
In the first of his two videos, Sanchez demonstrated his explosive strength as he leapt high to meet a header, while in the second, the now-topless attacker sprinted from a standing start.
So far this pre-season Sanchez has missed his north London side win back-to-back trophies and maintain a 100 per cent winning record.
They claimed the Barclays Asia Trophy in Singapore having beaten the Singapore XI 4-0 before defeating Premier League outfit Everton 3-1.
Regarding the 26-year-old's return, Wenger has said: 'He will be back on August 3 and usually it takes three weeks to be competitive.
'With Alexis it could be a little bit less. He will certainly miss the first game.'

Manchester United confirmed the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a three-year deal.

Romero played under Louis van Gaal at AZ Alkmaar when they were crowned Eredivisie champions in 2009.
Van Gaal told MUTV: 'Sergio Romero is an international goalkeeper from the Argentina team.
'He was also a former player of mine. I was trainer-coach, manager of AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, I picked him up when he was 19 and he was a great talent. We became champions with him, with a minor club, and in the Netherlands it was a fantastic result of course.
'I know him very well and I think in our situation, if De Gea is going or not going, it is always a threat and we have to take care, make sure that we are prepared and that is why I think it is very good that Sergio Romero is now a Manchester United player.'

Szczesny confirms he's joining Roma on loan.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szscesny has announced he will join Serie A side Roma on a season-long loan on Monday.
The 25-year-old posted a video on his Instagram account on Sunday evening to confirm he would be leaving the Emirates for Rome.
Speaking in Italian, Szscesny said: 'Good evening Giallorossi! I am very happy, because I am going to Roma tomorrow. I'll see you soon.'
The Poland international has been given the go-ahead by Arsenal to complete the transfer who have been ironing out details of the loan fee with Roma looking to pay an initial £250,000.
The Italian giants had been interested in signing Szczesny permanently, but that did not suit the player or Arsenal at this stage.
Szczesny lost his place as Arsenal's No 1 goalkeeper last season following David Ospina's arrival, and this summer's signing of Petr Cech from Chelsea has pushed both further from the first team.

Stevan Jovetic to have medical with Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Stevan Jovetic will end his Manchester City misery by joining Inter Milan this week.
The Italian club confirmed that Jovetic, who is with City on their tour of Vietnam, will fly to Milan for a medical on Tuesday.
Inter wanted the 25-year-old on loan but it is understood that it will either be a sale or a loan that includes a clause stipulating a permanent move like Alvaro Negredo's recent move to Valencia.
A statement read: 'Jovetic will arrive in Milan tomorrow before undergoing a medical on Tuesday.'
Jovetic cost City £20mllion from Fiorentina two years ago but has struggled to win a first-team place and was dropped from the Champions League squad in February to make way for new signing Wilfried Bony.
'We really need an attacker because we only have two players up front at the moment,' the Inter boss told Corriere dello Sport earlier this week.
The club announced on Twitter: '@stevanj35 will arrive in Milan tomorrow before undergoing a medical on Tuesday #FCIM'.
Pending the results of the medical, Jovetic is expected to join Atletico Madrid defender Miranda, Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia and Granada defender Jeison Murillo as Mancini's fourth big summer signing.

Di Maria misses flight to join United squad for pre-season.

Angel Di Maria failed to join the Manchester United squad on their US tour on Saturday, amid reports that he is on the brink of moving to Paris Saint-Germain.
Di Maria, who is set to join PSG within 48 hours in a £46.5m deal according to reports in several of Sunday's newspapers, was due to meet up with his United team-mates in San Jose.
Amid reports that Angel Di Maria has already signed for PSG, Louis van Gaal was unsure why he did not make the plane for their friendly against Barcelona.
"No," said United manager Louis van Gaal when asked if the 27-year-old Argentina winger had flown to San Jose.
"I have heard he is not on the plane. I cannot say anything. He was not on the plane."
PSG coach Laurent Blanc indicated a deal for Di Maria could be close after his side lost to Chelsea on penalties in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The former France coach was initially cagey when asked about the situation, saying: "I have no official news. PSG are looking for an offensive player. Will it be Di Maria? I hope so."
Pushed further, he added: "He (Di Maria) will surely come to the United States, but with which team? He plays for Manchester United at the moment and I hope that if that changes, it will be that he comes to us. We have to have patience a little longer.
"It's not easy, between two big clubs. The outcome is very close, in my opinion."

Manchester United kit accidentally put on sale in US one week before official release.

Manchester United's highly anticipated adidas kit for the upcoming season appears to have been put on sale one week before its official unveiling.
The club are set to release the strip on August 1, however a picture emerged on Saturday showing the shirt available for $90 from US retailer Dick's Sporting Goods.
Due to their current agreement with Nike, United's kit supplier for the past 13 years, the Red Devils have been obliged to keep the outfit under wraps until the end of July.
However photographs of the home jersey, taken by a shopper who goes by the name GoodGuyManu, have gone viral since they were uploaded to online bulletin board Reddit and will have fans salivating at the prospect of purchasing their very own version.
Reminiscent of the home strip worn by the team during the 1980's the shirt features a classic V-neck collar and white bands on the sleeves.
Set to become a world record partnership, German sportswear company adidas made a deal with the Premier League giants worth a staggering £750million over 10 years.

Aaron Ramsey flattered by Barcelona talk.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey admits being linked with a move to Barcelona is flattering after revealing he would like to play in Spain.
Ramsey has stressed that he has no plans to leave England at this stage but aims one day to follow the likes of Gareth Bale to La Liga.
Back in May it was reported Barcelona side were sounding out a £50million bid for the former Cardiff City youngster and Ramsey admits he just wants to strive to become the best.
Ramsey told The Guardian: 'Obviously it's very flattering. One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it's like and to experience that, but at the moment I'm with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things.
'Hopefully I can be one of the best midfielders in the world, that's what drives me on, to try and achieve that and to try and go on and win many things.
'I think I've definitely grown as a player. I feel there's a responsibility there to perform, to lead the team by driving forward and winning the ball back. I'm a player who always wants to be involved in the game.
'That's why I don't particularly like going on the right because I'm not involved as much. I want the ball every time we have an attack.'

Cost vows to help Falcao back to his best.

Jose Mourinho says that Costa is a man who can't speak English but communicates better than anyone.
He has a fighter's face which can break into a smile or a scowl.
Last season, his 20 goals in 26 Premier League matches elevated Chelsea to champions. He also seemed to be the man most likely to be at the centre of an argument.
From day one, defenders seemed to mark him down as a man they had to fight as much as play. Costa (right) seemed to relish the contest.
Does he like the aggression? 'No,' he insists. 'I like to play football, I like to score goals, I like to do things well.
'You can get different games, some which are more of a battle, some which are less hard-fought.
'Goals are what count for me. 'Fighting hard, giving everything and working hard has to be combined with the goals. It doesn't matter if defenders want to battle me or not, I will just be trying to do my job as well as I can.'

Alongside him will be an old friend. Radamel Falcao was the star at Atletico Madrid when Costa was the understudy, before the Colombian's £52million move to Monaco which went sour when he ruptured knee ligaments.
Since then there has been the misfiring attempt to restore his reputation at Manchester United.
Now they are reunited but with roles reversed. Costa, now the leading man, is pleased it didn't work out at United.
'It's good for us that he didn't have the best of seasons as that's why he's now with us.
'We know that Falcao is a hugely talented player. The only thing he needs is to feel loved and trusted, and he will get both here.
'The manager is very happy to have brought him in and we are all very excited to have him in our squad because he's a great player.
'He gets on very well with his team-mates and he will help us a lot off the field too.'
The ruptured knee ligaments were not the reason for Falcao's form last season, according to Costa.  Indeed, a little tenderness should restore him to the Falcao of Atletico.
'I suffered an injury similar to his and now I'm fine. All he needs is the consistency of regular football and to feel loved.
'If he wasn't very happy at United, whatever may have been missing there, he will get it here.'

Bastian Schweinsteiger to miss Barcelona friendly due to injury.

Bastian Schweinsteiger will not play in Manchester United's International Champions Cup clash against Barcelona on Saturday after picking up a slight knock.
The German World Cup winner, who moved to Old Trafford in a £15million deal from Bayern Munich earlier this month, will not feature against the current European champions having made his Red Devils debut against San Jose Earthquakes on Tuesday night.
'Schweinsteiger cannot play because he had a little injury,' said United boss Louis Van Gaal, before adding that one XI would play 60 minutes and another XI would play the last 30.
'I never talk about the injury. I say only it is a minor issue and I don’t take risks in preparation time. He shall not even play for 30 minutes.'
The manager added that the match against the Champions League winner was a good opportunity for his side, who finished fourth in last season's Premier League, to see if they have closed the gap.
'I have said to the players it is fantastic to play against Barcelona because then you know a little bit if you are at a certain level,' he explained.
'Our aim this season is not to win the Champions League but to be close. Of course I know that this is pre-season. We know very well that winning (freindly matches) is not the real truth because in the season you have to show it - not in the pre-season. The performance is more important than the result. That is for me what counts, how we perform. I would be very happy when we win, of course.'

Danny Welbeck will miss that start of the Premier League season as concerns persist over a long-term knee injury. Arsene Wenger has confirmed Welbeck is still to return to training, meaning he will miss the start of the new season.
'Welbeck is not in full training yet, he has not fully recovered,' said Wenger.
'He is supposed to start to go outside and run again this weekend and from now on, if that is positive in the next three weeks he will be available
'He will be short for the start of the season in two weeks, but three weeks should be all right.'

Bayern agree to sign Arturo Vidal.

Bayern Munich have confirmed a deal to sign Arturo Vidal from Juventus. Juve's general director Giuseppe Marotta this week revealed Vidal had asked to leave the club after four straight title-winning seasons.
And the Chile captain will now return to the Bundesliga provided he passes a medical.
Bayern chief executive Karl Heinz Rummenigge said: "I can confirm that we have reached an agreement with both parties, Juventus and the player. "What is missing is the medical and the signature of the contract," Vidal spent four years in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen before leaving for Turin, where he won five major trophies and helped Juve reach this year's Champions League final.

Radamel Falcao joins his new Chelsea team-mates.

Pedro considering Manchester United move.

Barcelona forward Pedro is considering leaving the club for Manchester United because he wants to play more minutes, according to his team mate Sergio Busquets.
The Spanish forward is currently mulling over an offer from United after the Barclays Premier League club agreed to meet his £22m buy out clause at the Nou Camp.
And his friend and team-mate Sergio Busquets today admitted Pedro is facing the toughest decision of his career.
Speaking in California ahead of Barcelona's game with Louis van Gaal's United in Santa Clara on Saturday, Busquets said: 'Yes I have spoken to him but I won't tell you what he said.
'It was a private conversation. I would want him to stay, I would love him to stay.
'He is a friend of mine and it will be his final decision. He wants to play more and get more minutes. That's what he wants.
'But we are in a team of great players and it's hard for him. Finally it will be his decision but I hope he stays.'

Wojciech Szczesny given go-ahead by Arsenal to join Roma on loan.

Wojciech Szczesny has agreed to join Roma on a season-long loan from Arsenal.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper has been given the go-ahead by Arsenal to complete the transfer who are ironing out details of the loan fee with Roma looking to pay an initial £250,000.
Roma had been interested in signing Szczesny permanently, but that did not suit the player or Arsenal at this stage.

Liverpool sign Christian Benteke.

Liverpool have completed the transfer of striker Christian Benteke from Aston Villa for £32.5m.
The 24-year-old becomes manager Brendan Rodgers’ seventh signing of the summer and is their second most expensive purchase ever, after they decided to meet his buy-out clause.
Benteke, who scored 49 goals in 101 appearances during three seasons with Villa, will not link up with his new Liverpool team-mates on their Far East tour, but is expected to make his debut in the pre-season friendly against HJK Helsinki in Finland on August 1.
The former Genk frontman joins a host of attacking talent at Rodgers’ disposal, with Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings, Mario Balotelli, Divock Origi, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini already at the club. Rodgers has been busy adding to his squad this summer, with the swoop for Benteke taking his spending to over £75m.
The Liverpool boss is attempting to improve on last season’s disappointing sixth-place finish and fill the void left by the departures of Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling to LA Galaxy and Manchester City respectively.

Arsenal keen on Barcelona kid Sergi Samper.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to sign Barcelona midfielder Sergi Samper and the player is considering the move despite Luis Enrique being desperate to keep him.
Wenger faces competition for the 20-year-old, who is under contract until 2017, as Portuguese giants Porto are hoping to take him on loan.
But with his buyout clause set at £8.5million and the player keeping his options open, Wenger has been encouraged.
Samper’s path at Barca is blocked by Sergi Busquets whose place in the centre of midfield is unlikely to be up for grabs anytime soon.
And after Barca B were relegated to the third tier of Spanish football last season, staying in the club’s second string will mean stagnation for the young midfielder.
He tried to sign Samper in 2011 when he brought full back Hector Bellerin to the club and has followed his progress since, watching him make an impressive Champions League debut last season against Apoel in the group stage.

Newcastle sign Mitrovic.

Newcastle have completed the £12.5million signing of Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The 20-year-old – who scored 44 times from 90 appearances for the Belgian club – has penned a five-year deal at St James’ Park.
And the Serbia international said: ‘I am so happy to have signed for Newcastle. I visited the stadium yesterday (Monday) and it’s amazing. I have played in a lot of impressive stadiums in my career but St. James’ Park is so big, I can’t wait to play my first game here.
‘I know how passionate the fans are. This is a club with a very big history and the fans are a big part of that. There will be pressure here, for sure, but I like pressure.
‘I also know about the famous players who have played for Newcastle United, like Alan Shearer who is a hero of mine. I hope I can play like him for this club. It will be an honour.’
Steve McClaren said: ‘I think this is a fantastic signing for us. We’ve fought off a lot of competition to secure a top young talent in Europe.
‘Aleksandar is someone who can develop with the team and someone who will help us to get to where we want to go.
‘As a board we have worked hard to make it happen. It’s another demonstration that we are wanting to push on.’

John Stones keen to speak to Chelsea.

John Stones wants to be given the chance to discuss the possibility of moving to Chelsea with the Premier League champions ready to make a fresh bid to take the centre half to Stamford Bridge.
Sources close to the player say the Everton defender would relish the chance to play Champions League football but he is unlikely to create trouble in the way Raheem Sterling did to force his move from Liverpool. But the fact that he is now unsettled will give way for Chelsea's second £26m bid, expected imminently.
Roberto Martinez claims the former Barnsley centre back will not be sold and even criticised Chelsea for making their approach public.
Mourinho has rejected that stance, however, and would like to add Stones to his squad before the start of the new Premier League season to eventually replace John Terry, 34, who recently penned a new one-year deal.

Manchester United set to bring in mystery striker.

Louis van Gaal says Manchester United are still in the hunt for a striker - but added the mystery man has yet to be linked with the club in the press.
The Dutchman hinted that there could be a shock addition to United's striking ranks after his side's 1-0 victory over Club America in Seattle on Friday.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday night's friendly with San Jose Earthquakes at the Avaya Stadium, he added that the target remained 'in the process'.
'It's not the striker that the media has written,' Van Gaal revealed.
'But you have to wait and see. The transfer period is open until August 31 or September 2.'

Filipe Luis set to return to Atletico Madrid.

According to Marca, Atlético de Madrid have reached an initial agreement with Chelsea to recoup left-back Filipe Luis. The Brazilian will return to the Vicente Calderón for 15 million euros but first Atlético must find an outlet for the player who currently fills the role, Guilherme Siqueira.
The Colchoneros’ plan is to offload Siqueira, on the one hand to partly fund the transfer of Filipe Luis and also to leave a margin within the payroll to FIFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations
Filipe, who was keen to return back to Atlético, has offered to take a sizeable pay cut in a goodwill gesture to the Spanish side for the efforts they have made in negotiating with Chelsea, who clearly stated that if any deal were to go through, it would be a straight transfer and not a loan.
