Arsenal's slim hopes of Premier League glory were dashed after a 0-0 draw with Chelsea at the weekend but Olivier Giroud has warned Jose Mourinho's side they will be defending their trophy against a stronger Gunners outfit next season.
Sunday's goalless draw at The Emirates means Chelsea will secure the title if they follow up a potential victory against Leicester on Wednesday with three points at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
But Giroud believes Arsenal are improving at a rapid rate and will be able to contend for the league next year alongside their London rivals.
'If we keep our best players, this determination and team spirit, I'm sure we are going to join the championship race,' Giroud said.
'Hopefully we will have less injuries and if we keep this group, with maybe one or two new players coming in, we can have a great season.'
While the French striker is not expecting Chelsea to stumble as they hunt for two victories to win the league, he is still aiming for a strong end to the season with Arsenal and wants his team to win the FA Cup for the second consecutive year.
'We need to finish in second and win the FA Cup and then it will be a great season,' Giroud explained.
If Arsene Wenger's side end the campaign as runners-up, it would be their highest finish since 2005.
