Andre Schurrle may have left England for the Bundesliga in January but that won't stop him collecting a Premier League winner's medal at the end of the season.
The German winger, who moved to Wolfsburg from Chelsea during the winter transfer window, made 14 top-flight appearances this season before departing - enough to earn himself a momento of the Blues' title win.
Players must make at least five appearances to be eligible for a medal but Schurrle was unaware that he would receive one until Jose Mourinho sent him a text.
Speaking to the BBC World Service's World Football programme, Schurrle said: 'I didn't know that I'd get a medal when I didn't play most of the second half of the season.
'Jose Mourinho sent me a text to say that I'd get a medal and he asked me to come to the last game. That was very nice for me.'
Chelsea secured the title with a 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace on May 3 but they will not get their hands on the trophy until after their final game of the season against Sunderland.
Despite not being part of Mourinho's squad for the second half of the season, Schurrle insists he has no hard feelings towards the club and only views his time at Stamford Bridge positively.
'I'm really happy for the boys,' he added. 'They played a very good second half of the season so of course it's good to get a medal but the boys did the work.
'I wanted to come back to the Bundesliga, I wanted to feel a little bit more in the team and to get a bit more playing time.
'I love Chelsea still, I'm not frustrated, it was a great experience.'
