Louis van Gaal has challenged Javier Hernandez to prove his worth at Manchester United.
Hernandez spent last season on loan at Real Madrid but is now back at the club and will join his team-mates on the club's pre-season tour of America on Saturday.
With Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie leaving Old Trafford this summer, Van Gaal only has Wayne Rooney, Hernandez and youngster James Wilson as recognised first-team strikers.
'Javier can prove himself again and now Falcao and Van Persie are gone, his chances are better,' Van Gaal said.
Van Gaal has told Rooney that he will be United's main centre forward this season but the club may get another striker – although Van Gaal is said to be relaxed about his striking options.
